Dear STC Parents/Guardians,

The school year is underway and we are much more familiar with our new operations at the new STC Elementary School. We are very excited to have the new school up and running and are equally excited to have your child/children enjoying it with us! We would like to say a big THANK YOU to all of our parents/guardians for working with us in this transitional period with the new school and new procedures. Your patience and kindness have been helpful and inspiring to us here at school.

We would like to highlight a few procedural issues and changes.

  • Parent Pick-up and Drop-off - This procedure is going much smoother. Please be aware that we have lines designated as “Loading” and “Unloading” zones. These lines are the white lines that run the length of the north side of the circle drive. If you are taking a child in, you must park in the diagonal parking spots, not in the loading/unloading zone. We also have a cross walk designated for parents/guardians and students. This area is in front of the school and is marked with multiple white lines. You will also see orange safety cones placed to remind drivers not to park or drop off in this zone. When there are lines of traffic, we will continue to require you to pull up in the loading/unloading zone as far to the west as possible to allow for other parents/guardians to pull behind you. Your cooperation in this manner is greatly appreciated.

  • Open Doors in the Morning - The school doors will now begin to open at 7:45 to accommodate students wishing to eat breakfast. Students who will not be eating breakfast should enter school at 8:00 or after. The original 7:15 time will no longer be in effect.

  • Busing - There have been some positive changes in our busing procedures. There are more in-town pick-ups and drop-offs to aid parents/guardians transportation needs. The buses will be equipped with magnets that state the bus number and a color-coded animal that will be used as a key to remind students, staff, and parents/guardians the appropriate bus the students should be riding. A reminder is to key in on the bus number and color-coded animal versus the bus driver as the bus driver may not be the same everyday.

Please feel free to contact the school if you have any questions or concerns regarding any of these procedures. Once again, we greatly appreciate your help in making our operations run effectively.
