SPECIAL SESSION

OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF THE

COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT OF SOUTH TAMA COUNTY

 

The Board of Directors of the Community School District of South Tama County met on October 1, 2007 in Special Session at the Administration Building, Tama, Iowa, at 7:30 p.m.

 

Acting Board secretary Larry Molacek called the meeting to order.

 

On call of the roll the following were present: Jackie Dvorak

                                                                        Ron Hala

                                                                        Don Wacha

                                                                        Andy Bagnall

                                                                        Michelle Yuska

                                                                       

Quorum present.

 

Also present were : Larry Molacek, Greg Darling, interested citizens, and Joyce Wiese from the local newspaper.

 

Moved by Wacha, seconded by Bagnall, to approve the agenda as presented. All ayes.

 

Kelly Smith, representing the STC Recreation Board presented a proposed 28E agreement for Joint Planning, Administration and Funding of the Recreation Programs between the City of Tama, Toledo and the STC School District. Further discussion is needed on the proposal.

 

Eric Ries, STC Activities Director, presented an Athletic Facilities Improvement Plan. The plan would be implemented over the next four years at an estimated total cost of $303,000. Further discussion is needed on

the proposal.

 

Moved by Yuska, seconded by Hala, to approve the following contracts:

New Contracts:

Cassandra Gates, SCI Elementary Aide

Susan Gauthier, SCI Elementary Aide

Ashley Dolash, BD Elementary Aide

 

Entered into Closed Session at 8:45 p.m.until 9:36 p.m. in accordance with board policy 204.30,E to review or discuss records which are required or authorized by state or federal law to be kept confidential (Code of Ia. 21.5 (l) (i).

 

Moved by Wacha, seconded by Yuska, to adjourn at 9:37 p.m. All ayes.
